Electrical Construction Section Manager - Phoenix, Az
We are hiring an Electrical Construction Section Manager to join a greenfield fab construction project in Phoenix, AZ. The electrical infrastructure is the backbone to Semiconductor Manufacturing Facilities, so this scope of work is crucial to the success of these buildings. The Electrical Construction Section Manager can expect to manage multiple megaprojects at once, with each individual project costing over $100m+ in scope. This person will serve as an Electrical Subject Matter Expert and will be expected to drive fast-paced construction, while staying hands-on with the individual projects and reports.

Job Responsibilities :
This person will report to the Construction Department Manager and will manage 4 to 10 Electrical Project Engineers as direct reports. The Section Manager will stay heavily hands-on with project milestones and progress, and can expect to partner closely with all other disciplines (Mechanical, Structural, Civil, Architects, BIM, EOR, Drafters, Utility Providers) for project needs.
The Electrical Construction Section Manager will oversee the construction, installation, and commissioning of all electrical power supply and equipment, including (but not limited to) :
- High Voltage Utility Power Supply (up to 230kV or higher), including Substation and Power Distribution.
- Medium and Low Voltage Distribution Systems (down to 50v), including Transformers, Switchgears, Circuit Breakers, Busways, and Panelboards.
- Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) Systems (double-conversion, flywheel, battery-backed) for clean, continuous power.
- Power for HVAC and Cleanroom Systems (HEPA filtration, humidity and temperature Control), which consume significant electrical power.
- Emergency and Backup Power Systems, including : Diesel, Automatic Transfer Switches (ATS), and Redundant Systems
- Power Monitoring and Management, including : SCADA, Energy Management Systems (EMS), and Power Quality Monitoring
- Clean Power Zones for ultra-sensitive equipment and Grounding Systems with electromagnetic interference (EMI) control
Additional responsibilities include :
Oversee Quality, Safety, and Security of all Electrical Construction activitiesOversee all aspects of Electrical Construction activities, from Equipment to Building Power Systems and SubstationsResponsible for Code Interpretation, Project Planning and Scheduling, Resource Monitoring and Control, Interface CoordinationSchedule Management & Monitoring :Create and maintain comprehensive project schedules and milestones for all phases of Electrical Construction (underground, building, commissioning, completion)Track KPIs and project milestones to ensure timely execution of electrical systems, while working with internal company leadershipMonitor project progress, report deviations from the established schedule, and implement corrective actions to minimize delaysPerform milestone schedule updates, electrical system commissioning, and QA / QC tasks, while communicating to relevant partnersRisk Management & Problem Solving :Identify and assess potential scheduling risks.Observe and address unforeseen scheduling conflicts or delaysReporting & Documentation :Implement trackable construction KPIs and tracking logs for Engineering, Construction, and ContractorsHold subcontractors accountable for their project progress and expectationsInform management of the project plan and provide accurate updatesJob Requirements :
Master's Degree with a Concentration in Power Systems (likely engineering degree)5+ years of experience in Electrical Construction for large-scale Industrial ProjectsMust have 2+ years with Semiconductor Facility Electrical ConstructionMust have experience working with $500m+ in projects ($100m+ per project)Experience managing 230kV (Substation, Power Distribution) down to 50v (Tool, Machinery, Equipment Installation)Experience managing Electrical Construction from underground systems through High-Tech Manufacturing Power Systems Commissioning5+ years of experience with project software tools such as AutoCAD, Navisworks, and Microsoft Project; as well as Data Analysis software like Excel.6+ months working with Arizona's local construction regulations, codes, and practices (will have teammates to help translate and navigate)Experience managing direct reports and creating project milestonesSME in Power Systems from Substation / Distribution to Manufacturing FloorExperience working with international teams and driving fast-past constructionWork Environment :

While one building is currently in operation, there are 7 additional buildings planned for this site, offering years of competitive work experience and stability. Compensation :
All compensation will depend on candidate experience and circumstances. The target base salary will be $150,000-220,000 / year, with a bonus potential of 33-43% per year. Relocation assistance can be provided. International candidates can be considered, depending on individual circumstance and experience.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $150000.00 - $195000.00 / yr.
