The Human Resources Generalist provides HR support and internal customer service for all employees at the business unit.

Primary responsibilities include recruitment and placement of contingent hourly team members in partnership with agency partners, conducting new hire and benefits orientations, maintaining employee information in company systems, supporting timely, accurate payroll processing, executing Company events such as employee recognition events, holiday celebrations, and cultural events, and assisting with front office duties such as ordering office supplies, mail intake, and assisting visitors.

DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES include, but not limited to :

  • Performs recruitment and placement of contingent hourly team members in partnership with agency partners
  • Conducts new hire and benefits orientations, assists with enrollment as needed
  • Maintains employee information in HRIS system and Opus Vision software use for production management
  • Supports timely, accurate payroll processing via timecard approval and providing information to payroll team
  • Assists with employee leaves, including FMLA, short / long term disability, and worker’s compensation
  • Maintains positive employee relations having frequent contact with employees and responding to daily employee inquiries
  • Maintains a professional customer service demeanor and supports the Company core values
  • Maintains business unit training records, ensuring updated job descriptions are assigned and working closely with trainers to schedule training classes as needed.

Follows up on open training needs including on the job training forms

  • Performs offboarding and exit interviews for terminating employees
  • Responds to unemployment claims
  • Assists HR Director in various HR related projects and tasks, as assigned.
  • Plans and executes Company events, including town hall meetings, employee recognition events, holiday celebrations, cultural events
  • Serves as facilitator for business unit committees : Culture, Coffee Chat, Safety and Training
  • Responsible for employee badges, door entry system
  • Assists in approval of invoices from suppliers and vendors
  • Assists with front office duties such as, ordering office supplies, mail intake and assisting visitors with check-in

QUALIFICATIONS :

Bachelor’s degree in human resources or a related field with 6-12 months prior HR experience as an intern or HR Assistant.

A combination of education and equivalent work experience may be considered.

  • Ability to fluently communicate in either the Spanish or Hmong-Mien languages
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment with the ability to prioritize multiple assignments simultaneously
  • Able to resolve employee issues and communicate effectively with all employees
  • Good awareness and understanding of state and federal employment laws
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Show initiative to improve processes and explore new ways of doing things
  • Highly self-motivated and able to work independently
  • Ability to work with employees at all levels within the organization
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality at all times and in all matters
  • Computer proficiency including Windows, MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Ability to learn new programs easily
  • Must be highly organized and detail oriented

WORKING CONDITIONS :

This position works in a traditional office environment but will have frequent exposure to the manufacturing floor. Will be required to wear safety clothing and personal protective equipment as needed.
