Finance Manager
Schedule / Hours : M-F 8 : 30AM 5 : 00PM
This position is responsible for managing the financial activities and accounting functions of The Salvation Army Area Command; preparing financial analysis of operations including interim and final statements according to The Salvation Army guidelines; reporting operational results to the Senior Director of Business Administration; supervising staff and managing financial matters, payroll, accounting, auditing, and budgetary controls.
Key Responsibilities :
- Plans, directs, and supervises the work of assigned staff; trains and instructs employee in the proper methods and procedures; monitors work in progress and upon completion to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with established policies and procedures; conducts performance evaluations and provides hiring / firing recommendations.
- Manages Area Command fund accounts; supervises and reviews accounting records, general ledgers, and financial statements for accuracy and completeness.
- Manages the financial activities of the Area Command; prepares and oversees the preparation of reports which summarize and forecast the business activity and net financial position in areas of income, expenses, based on past, present, and expected operations for both internal and external sources.
- Analyzes, and interprets accounting information in order to appraise operating results in terms of performance against budget, and other matters bearing on the fiscal soundness and operating effectiveness of the organization.

Education and Experience :
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Accounting, Finance, or related field, ANDFive years' experience responsible performing financial and accounting duties, with prior experience / training in governmental and / or non-profit accounting, and two years supervisory experience, ORAny equivalent combination of training and experience which provided the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.Licenses and Certifications :
