Job Description
The Newtron Group is seeking a highly motivated and experienced electrical estimator with mission critical estimating and project execution experience to add to our growing preconstruction department.
Mission critical sectors includes data centers, manufacturing and essential high-tech industries.
Our ideal candidate is extremely detail-oriented, organized and able to work with diverse groups. This person is a self-starter, creative, and a critical thinker with great problem-solving skills.
You must be able to work independently as well as in a collaborative, creative, ever-changing, and ambiguous environment.

This role requires someone with a professional demeanor and the ability to communicate effectively with all Newtron Group business partners at every level.
The candidate should have a willingness to spend all of their time working directly with the preconstruction team.

Roles and Responsibilities
- Travel and attend pre-bid and post-bid meetings
- Organize electronic files, ensure the files match the document log and print if required
- Communicate any missing information or deficiencies to our clients to ensure we have all information that was intended
- Perform electrical takeoffs in an efficient and organized manner
- Read and interpret specifications
- Email and communicate summarized quantity data to our procurement department for material pricing from vendors
- Communicate with our safety and quality departments for review of specific requirements
- Communicate with subcontractors on proposals for subcontracted scope
- Communicate questions to our clients via a Request for Information (RFI)
- Note all assumptions, clarifications and exclusions for incorporation in our proposal
- Build accurate links and formulas from takeoffs to the client bid price breakdowns
- Attend bid review meetings and be full prepared to discuss the details of your portion of an estimate
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients during the bid period and after the bid is submitted
- Participate in kickoff meetings to ensure a smooth transition from preconstruction to construction
- Participate in look back meetings to capture lessons learned that apply to preconstruction
- Attend weekly preconstruction meetings with entire team
Qualifications
- 3 years of electrical estimating experience in heavy commercial, manufacturing or mission critical sectors
- Proficient in Microsoft Office programs such as Excel, Word and Outlook
- Knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC)
- Navigate online platforms used by clients to access data and submit bids
