This role is a part of the Test & Flight Operations team, providing centralized support to business units with a focus on the design, build, and maintenance of the ground systems, test, and launch facilities across multiple locations.

As part of a passionate and accomplished team of Integration Technicians, you will directly impact the future of space flight and help us make progress towards our mission of building the road to space through reusable rockets.

You will also share in the team’s impact on all aspects of fabrication, maintenance and operation of mechanical systems used in rocket engine testing, including :

  • Fabrication and routing of pneumatic pressurization and propellant tubing
  • Working knowledge of cryogenics and Cryogenic safety
  • Test article integration and checkout
  • Reviewing, editing and following Test Procedures
  • Operation of test facility
  • General trouble shooting of instrumentation, valves, Pumps, Hydraulics, etc

You will be working with engineers on design concepts / improvements and development tests, and planning the assembly steps for complex mechanical installations.

Qualifications :

  • Demonstrated ability to work with :
  • Test, flight and safety critical hardware
  • Standard mechanical tools, fabrication shop equipment, Band saw, Cornice Break, Tube Bender Flaring and facing machines and Drill Press.
  • Experience with pneumatic systems, propellant loading and off-loading systems
  • Experience operating, and maintaining large diesel engines
  • Experience with tube fabrication (bend, flare, fittings, etc.) and pressurized system safety
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings 3D modeling (CREO)
  • Experience operating heavy lifting equipment such as cranes and forklifts around flight critical hardware
  • Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and strengthen our culture of inclusion
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.

S. as a refugee or granted asylum and eligible to gain access to Redstone Arsenal.

Desired :

  • Experience in propulsion facility / system maintenance, Pumps, Valves Regulators, pneumatic system build up to include interpreting P&ID’s and Panel fabrication.
  • Experience welding steel, stainless steel, and aluminum for structural fabrication of panels
  • Working knowledge of a variety of rocket propellants, and cryogenics LOX, H2 and LNG
  • Stick, MIG / TIG, orbital welding experience
