Key Responsibilities
- Assist with patient admissions, including orientation to unit routines and equipment.
- Respond promptly to patient needs, either through direct assistance or by notifying appropriate staff.
- Support the nursing care plan by performing delegated patient care tasks.
- Ensure patient safety by properly using equipment and supplies.
- Manage access to medication and supply rooms to retrieve necessary patient care items.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the patient care area.
- Participate actively in cost containment and accurate patient service charging.
- Engage in educational and performance improvement activities.
- Perform waived testing and maintain required skills per unit competency.
- Demonstrate commitment to customer satisfaction, patient flow, and hospital capacity goals.
Education and Certifications
High school diploma or equivalent required.Current Nursing Assistant certification and registration with the appropriate state registry.Experience and Skills
No prior experience required; on-the-job training provided.Strong guest relations and communication skills, both verbal and written.Ability to read and understand English.Flexibility in work tasks and schedules.Basic computer skills and ability to learn new techniques.Knowledge of age-specific patient care considerations.Physical Requirements
