FreeFrom is a national organization founded in 2016 and based in Los Angeles, whose mission is to dismantle the nexus bFreeFrom – a proudly feminist, national nonprofit led by queer, trans, im / migrant, and BIPOC survivors and allies – is on a bold mission to build economic freedom and safety with survivors of gender-based violence. With over $5 million in direct cash aid disbursed to 30,000+ survivors nationwide, a savings-matching program that grows emergency reserves up to $1,440 annually, and living-wage jobs created through our social enterprise, GIFTED, unlocked $4 million in federal VAWA funding, FreeFrom is rewriting what safety and security look like. Our advocacy has influenced workplace protections, and advanced financial security legislation impacting 20 million survivors. Through groundbreaking research, storytelling projects like the documentary SURVIVOR MADE, and national campaigns reframing gender-based violence as a journey of resilience and joy, FreeFrom is shifting culture and policy alike.
At this exciting moment in our evolution, we are hiring a VP of Marketing & Communications to harness data, storytelling, and strategy to amplify survivor voices, move resources, and shape the national conversation.
About the Position
Are you a passionate communications strategist committed to driving cultural change through data and storytelling? FreeFrom is looking for an innovative Vice President of Marketing and Communications to boldly lead our work on amplifying survivor voices, moving resources, and shaping the national conversation on gender-based violence. If you thrive on leveraging data and survivor stories to inspire action, this role may be for you.
Responsibilities
Design, implement, and lead marketing and narrative change strategies that drive visibility, revenue, and culture change.
Serve as a senior leader, department head, and champion for FreeFrom's mission and values.
