Machine Operator

As a Production Machine Operator, you'll play a vital role in the production process ensuring that machines run smoothly and produce high-quality parts according to specifications.

Summary of the Machine Operator position :

• Location : Columbus, Nebraska
• Schedule : 2nd shift, Monday - Thursday 4 : 30 PM - 3 AM & Friday 1-7 PM
• Starting pay : $17 / hour

Responsibilities of the Machine Operator :

• Operate production machinery such as lathes, grinders, mills, punch presses and similar equipment in accordance with prints and specifications.
• Produce the required quantity of parts within established specifications and tolerance.
• Maintain quality standards keeping track of units produced and recording any errors resulting in rejected or discarded pieces.
• Prepare materials and complete changeovers of machine tooling as needed.
• Handle materials safely to reduce the risk of injury or damage.
• Inspect equipment before use, perform basic maintenance and make routine adjustments as necessary.
• Maintain a clean work area by performing basic cleaning tasks at the end of each shift.
• Read blueprints, drawings and specifications to ensure accurate production.
• Perform any other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications for the Machine Operator position :

• High School Diploma or GED
• 0-1 year of relevant experience
• Capability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Strong time management and problem-solving skills
• Good understanding of basic mathematics
• Ability to read blueprints and measuring devices
• Ability to lift 50-70 pounds
• Proficiency in using personal protective equipment

Preferred Qualifications for the Machine Operator position :

Technical Certification / Diploma from a technical college
