As a Production Machine Operator, you'll play a vital role in the production process ensuring that machines run smoothly and produce high-quality parts according to specifications.
Summary of the Machine Operator position :
- Location : Columbus, Nebraska
- Schedule : 2nd shift, Monday - Thursday 4 : 30 PM - 3 AM & Friday 1-7 PM
- Starting pay : $17 / hour
Responsibilities of the Machine Operator :
- Operate production machinery such as lathes, grinders, mills, punch presses and similar equipment in accordance with prints and specifications.
- Produce the required quantity of parts within established specifications and tolerance.
- Maintain quality standards keeping track of units produced and recording any errors resulting in rejected or discarded pieces.
- Prepare materials and complete changeovers of machine tooling as needed.
- Handle materials safely to reduce the risk of injury or damage.
- Inspect equipment before use, perform basic maintenance and make routine adjustments as necessary.
- Maintain a clean work area by performing basic cleaning tasks at the end of each shift.
- Read blueprints, drawings and specifications to ensure accurate production.
- Perform any other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications for the Machine Operator position :
- High School Diploma or GED
- 0-1 year of relevant experience
- Capability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Strong time management and problem-solving skills
- Good understanding of basic mathematics
- Ability to read blueprints and measuring devices
- Ability to lift 50-70 pounds
- Proficiency in using personal protective equipment
Preferred Qualifications for the Machine Operator position :
Technical Certification / Diploma from a technical college
