Job Purpose :

The Automation Technician is responsible for troubleshooting and maintenance of Automation and Controls systems in a dynamic environment requiring minimal downtime of the machinery.

Starting Pay : $32.69 per hour

Key Accountabilities :

• Partner with Automation Professional to troubleshoot automation issues.
• Basic skills in using in Allen Bradley PLC's.
• Ethernet IP and Serial communication protocols.
• Computer Skills & Knowledge - can use a Windows PC & has experience with the MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook & Power Point).
• Can read and interpret IEC standard electrical drawings.
• Knowledge of electric theory.
• Ability to troubleshoot using electrical instruments and circuit knowledge, both 3 phase electrical systems & low voltage power systems (control & signal).
• Ability to install, wire and maintain relays, photo-eyes, limit switches, proximity switches, solenoid valves, motors, starters, VFD's, PLC I / O modules, analog control devices, safety circuits, etc.
• Programming (minor modifications / configuration) to implement improvements in the PLC Logic and HMIs. Save, upload and download programs when modification / improvements are implemented.
• Assist with execution of safety work orders.
• Assist maintenance technicians using PLC andelectrical troubleshooting tools.
• Perform preventative and corrective maintenance as necessary on all automation equipment.
• Complete various projects and work orders as assigned.
• Partner with Processing and Packaging to ensure product flow (e.g., work with operators on troubleshooting, machine operation and format / size changes).
• Work and communicate well with others and effectively contribute to the working relationships within the plant.
• Work night hours (8 hour shift) as determined by candidate and automation department between 4 : 00pm - 4 : 00am, five days per week. Hours are fixed once shift is selected.
• Willingness to attend off-site training as needed.
