Graduate Teaching Fellow
Position Summary :
The Mathematics Department at NDSU invites applications by mathematics graduate students as Graduate Teaching Fellows. Teaching fellows are responsible for performing teaching or teaching-related duties to assist faculty members and lecturers.
Duties include teaching two classes (usually Math 98 Math 129) as primary instructors each semester, or performing similar duties as directed by the chair of the mathematics department.
Required Skills / Experience :
These skills are critical to the everyday activities of this position
- Current GTA and enrolled as a graduate student in the mathematics department at NDSU.
- Successfully completed all written preliminary examinations.
- Successfully taught at least one course as primary instructor.
- Exhibits progression the graduate program.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Preferred Skills / Experience :
- These skills are not required but are very helpful in rare occurrences.
- A strong record or demonstrated potential of high-quality teaching.
- Taught one or more courses as preliminary instructor.
