Job Description

As the Director of Construction with OMES you will enjoy :

Job Details

  • Full-time 40-hour work weeks.
  • Support the Capital Asset Management team
  • Salary based on education and experience.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure construction projects conform to contractual agreements, meeting all set budgets, goals, and work assignments.*
  • Review contract requirements, special provisions, terms and conditions to ensure compliance with appropriate laws, regulations, and policies and procedures*
  • Review cost estimates and conduct value analysis of construction related changes and change orders*
  • Monitor construction activities, resolve problems and issues which arise, especially those pertaining to changes, deficiencies and / or subcontractor performance*
  • Review monthly project status reports and pay applications; provide information as needed to keep executive leadership updated*
  • Identify improvement opportunities and share best practices within and across teams; proactively identify and remove barriers, realize efficiencies, and address evolving needs of the business*
  • Manage the day to day operational and tactical aspects of construction projects in a working supervisory role*
  • Establish productive working relationships, and deal effectively and cooperatively with Partner agencies, team members and consultants*
  • Display willingness to make decisions; exhibit sound and accurate judgment; support and explain reasoning for decisions;

include appropriate people in decision-making process; make timely decisions*

  • Collaborate with appropriate staff to meet goals and objectives of project*
  • Supervise, coach, mentor, and provide performance-enhancing feedback to team members*
  • Prepare plans of action for resolving project related problems*

Physical Demands and Work Environment

This position works in a comfortable office setting with a computer for a large percentage of the work day. This position may be required to visit a worksite which requires bending, stooping, climbing, and walking.

The use of protective equipment may be required to protect against environmental or physical hazards. While the typical environment will be a quiet, climate- controlled office setting, there may be instances where this position will be exposed to more extreme environments.

Occasional travel may be required.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management or related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • At least 10 years of progressively responsible experience in construction management, including estimating, project scheduling and control, and management of field personnel or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Experience managing projects with 100M plus portfolio
