WorkSchedule :
Work schedule shallbeMondayFriday to include a onehour uncompensated mealbreak.
Core Duties : The duties include but are not limited to thefollowing;
Conduct or assist in treatment andrehabilitation of patients. Perform initial basic assessmentprocedures including standardized psychological testing clinicalinterviewing mental status examinations substance abuse evaluationsand psychological and nursing assessment.
Identify mentalhealth and nursing diagnoses and provide patienteducation.
Observe monitor record and report patientsprogress.
Conduct or assist in conducting group andindividual counseling therapeutic community and other relatedmilieu activities.
Institute precautionary measures toprevent patient injury or suicide.
Assist patients withnutritional hygiene and comfort measures.
Obtain andrecord vital signs.
Coordinate with other agenciesregarding specified care treatment prevention rehabilitation andadministrative functions. Contact military and community agenciesto obtain collateral information.
Explain and interpret mentalhealth services to patients or others.
Assist in orarrange patient referral to public private and military communityagencies.
Prepare and maintain records and reportspertaining to specialty services.
Assist with care ofindividuals experiencing acute and posttraumatic stressreactions.
Prepare and maintain treatmentrecords.
Qualifications
MinimumQualifications :
- Education : Certificate. Graduation from an accreditedPsychiatric Technician Program; or completion of an equivalenteducation or experience that meets the requirement of the AmericanAssociation of Psychiatric Technicians or completion of educationand experience as a behavioral science specialist / technician in theUnited States military and proof of having completed an ArmedForces course involving psychiatric technician training or civiliancourse from an accredited school in the care of behavioral healthpatients.
- Experience : One year of experience as a PsychiatricTechnician after graduation.
- LifeSupport Certification : Possess and maintain acurrent AHA or ARC BLS Healthcare Providercertification.
- Security : Must possess ability to pass a Government background check / securityclearance.
