Procurement Engineering Project Manager

As a Procurement Engineering Project Manager for our Large Generators, you will be part of the Procurement Excellence Team within Gas Services and drive diverse projects and initiatives. This ranges from the generation & implementation of cost optimization ideas within interdisciplinary teams to leveraging the innovation power of our external suppliers and enabling the transfer of measures on products and solutions sold to external customers. Besides the optimization of existing products, you will also represent Procurement in the development of new products and exploration of new business fields. As an active core team member in selected key R&D projects, you will work closely with R&D Project Managers towards the achievement of project targets such as target cost through systematic involvement of strategic suppliers in the development process.

How You'll Make an Impact

  • Act as the key interface for Procurement, R&D, and CVE (Cost Value Engineering) within the Large Generators product line, and represent Procurement in selected key R&D programs to develop competitive products based on market requirements.
  • Develop and implement effective cost-out measures in close alignment with cross-functional teams (e.g., R&D, Engineering, Procurement, Manufacturing, Proposal), and serve as a technical partner for Procurement to create effective sourcing strategies across various material fields (commodities).
  • Collaborate actively with Marketing, Sales, and Project Procurement during the bidding process for new and / or optimized product offerings, and support the market introduction of new products through early involvement of Procurement and strategic partnerships with suppliers.
  • Leverage supplier know-how and innovation through technology scouting with Procurement and R&D to enhance the competitiveness of Siemens Energy products.
  • Include an extended network of experts from other procurement functions (e.g., Cost Engineers, Commodity Managers, Supplier Quality Managers) in the projects you work on.
  • Foster collaboration and communication across all involved functions to ensure alignment and efficiency in product development and procurement processes.

What You Bring

  • Combined technical and commercial or technical degree (min. bachelor's degree) is required.
  • 5+ years of professional experience in Energy Business, Engineering, R&D, Project Management and / or Supply Chain is required.
  • Excellent project management, interpersonal, and communication skills, also in interaction with internal customers.
  • Relevant technical product knowledge in the design and operation of generator components and systems is required.
  • You are curious, learn fast, pro-active and driven by results while having strong prioritization skills and focusing on what matters most.
