Executive Director Of Marketing & Communications
The Executive Director of Marketing & Communications leads Weber State University's integrated marketing and communications efforts, overseeing advertising, branding, crisis and internal communications, marketing, media relations, social media, and web communication strategy. The executive director advises the administration on key messaging and marketing campaigns and works collaboratively with deans and college marketing directors on goals and objectives of individual academic units on campus. The director, along with other members of the Marketing & Communications team, maintains strong working relationships with Admissions and Enrollment Services to help the university recruit and retain students. The director leads a team of 25+ creative professionals and ensures their work aligns with the university's priorities and strategic initiatives. The director also has financial oversight of the marketing and communications budget. The director works with other University Advancement areas to support the university's work in alumni engagement, government relations, philanthropic campaigns, and university event planning. The director is expected to know and uphold all policies and procedures consistent with state and university procurement practices, copyright and trademark rules, and adhere to best practices for using the likeness and image of students, faculty and staff in university marketing and promotional material, working closely with University Legal Counsel. The director is the brand champion for the university and works with a variety of internal and external stakeholders to educate them about the importance of brand standards and consistently using the official logos and marks of the university. This position reports to the Vice President for University Advancement.
