The Electro-Mechanical Technician is responsible for the completion of planned, preventive, and unplanned maintenance on a highly advanced automated material handling system in a distribution center environment.
The ideal EM Tech is focused on maximizing system up-time and performance through safe and efficient execution of maintenance activities.
Primary Responsibilities
Approach all tasks and situations with a Safety First mindsetMaximize system performance and up-time through effective execution of all maintenance-related activitiesParticipate in a broad array of electrical and mechanical tasks with minimal supervisionSupport Production Team through basic fault correction coaching and troubleshootingAssist in the installation of new or refurbishment of existing system componentsFacilitate continuous improvement activities through broad system knowledge and site-specific enhancements
Skills, Knowledge and Abilities
Strong electrical (3-Phase, 480V, DC and 24V controls) and mechanical skillsFamiliarity with electrics / mechanics in drive technology (motors / gears)Familiarity with control technology (PLC / controls / inverters)Knowledge of wiring diagrams and electrical measuringComfort working with wide assortment of computer systems (Microsoft Office Suite, proprietary system monitoring programs, etc.
Ability to work in team environmentRequired : High school diploma with at 1-2 years experience in relevant electrical and / or mechanical rolePreferred : Associates degree in industrial technology or related field with 2-4 years experience in relevant electrical and / mechanical roleExperience maintaining material handling systems in a light industry or distribution center environment strong preferredContinuous walking, climbing, squatting, kneeling, and standingWorking at heights of up to 80-100 feet wearing fall-arrest gear and other PPELifting, pulling and pushing up to 50 lbs.
