Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A dedicated Special Education Teacher is sought for a middle school setting in Chicago, IL, to provide specialized support within an Emotional Support Program designed for students with emotional and behavioral challenges. This contract role offers an opportunity to work in a highly structured environment, focusing on students who require behavioral interventions and emotional support.
Key Responsibilities :
- Deliver individualized and group instruction tailored to students with emotional and behavioral difficulties.
- Implement behavior management plans and support positive social interactions.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including counselors, administrators, and families.
- Manage caseload responsibilities including potential toileting assistance, ensuring student dignity and safety.
- Utilize specialized strategies to enhance academic and emotional growth.
Qualifications :
Licensed as a Learning Behavior Specialist I (LBS1).Experience working with middle school students in emotional support or related special education settings.Ability to handle sensitive situations with patience and professionalism.Strong communication and collaboration skills.Comfortable managing behavioral challenges and providing personal care support.Location and Schedule :
Position is based onsite in a middle school located in Chicago, IL.Typical work hours are approximately 7 : 15 AM to 3 : 15 PM, totaling 37.5 hours per week.Contract duration through the current school year, ending May 22, 2026.Benefits and Perks :
