Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

This contract position is for a Special Education Teacher to lead a self-contained classroom serving students in grades K-1 at an elementary school in Chicago, IL. The class currently includes 8 students, with the possibility of adding 1 or 2 more throughout the school year. Full-time hours are set at 33.35 per week, supported by a paraprofessional and a 1 : 1 aide to assist with classroom needs.

Key Responsibilities :

• Deliver specialized instruction tailored to the needs of students with learning and behavioral challenges in a self-contained K-1 setting
• Collaborate with paraprofessionals and aides to implement individual education plans
• Maintain a positive and structured classroom environment to support student growth and development
• Monitor and assess student progress, adjusting instruction as necessary
