Position Summary :
Performs structured research-related work assignments requiring knowledge and experience in relevant discipline. Solves a range of straightforward problems.
Analyze possible solutions using standard procedures. Receives some guidance and direction. Responsibility for performing professional laboratory work in an agricultural research laboratory of the natural sciences.
Job Duties :
50%) Independently perform tissue culture media and explant preparation for transformation experiments; record all experimental protocols and data
10%) Take care of plants in greenhouse and growth chambers; watering, planting transformed plants
15%) Perform PCR for screening transformed plants and bacteria, generate CRISPR reagents, and various other DNA cloning tasks.
25%) Perform everyday tasks such as laboratory cleanup (using aseptic technique), replenishing supplies as needed, remove hazardous and chemical waste.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications :
BA / BS Degree and 1 year of related experience or equivalent combination of education and work experience equal to five(5) years.
Tissue culture, PCR and cloning experience desirable but necessary, candidate will be trained; position involves building CRISPR reagents, preparing tissue culture media and explant preparation for the transformation of soybean, common bean and lentil.

BS Degree

Paul, MN campus of the University.
