Senior Application Engineer

Due to continued above average growth we are looking for a Senior Application Engineer to support our Freemont, California region .
Areas of Responsibility :
- become the main technological interface for dedicated key customers
- work and manage new product development projects along-side with the clients’ engineering groups and ELOCAB’s product specialists across various production sites
- become engrained in the customer’s own project management structure, understand, participate and drive new and upcoming projects to ensure long-term AVL-positioning for ELOCAB’s products
- Help sales identify / influence key decision makers within customer’s engineering, NPI, and purchasing divisions
- Consult customers with regards to optimized interconnect solutions, balancing customers expectations, ELOCAB’s manufacturing capabilities as well as new technologies
- liaise with ELOCAB manufacturing / site-engineering to step-wise introduce new technological trends necessary to meet customer’s future requirements and thus successively enhance manufacturing expertise
- maintain close coordination with field application engineers, technical staff as well as sales colleagues and management in other ELOCAB offices to facilitate knowledge exchange
- establish and manage / track project management structures (milestones, project organization etc.).
Required Skill-Set
extensive technical expertise regarding electrical, electro-mechanical, optical key parameters as well as good understanding of mechanical engineering challenges;
expertise in demands of the medical equipment manufacturing industry would be considered an additional asset
- strong technical background in interconnect applications, regarding custom cable, connector, assembly design
- multiple years of market expertise, preferably in the pertaining industries experience
- proven track record in working along-side or managing client teams in for a certain product line / division
- willingness to travel regularly to Europe and Canada.
- willingness to spend 2-3 months in Germany and Canada as part of the onboarding and training process.
- must be living in the Bay area or willing to relocate to the Bay area.
- experience in working within global enterprises, across multiple cultures and several international facilities
- authentic, loyal and integer personality with good reputation in the industry
- structured problem solving capabilities, self-motivated and organized personality focused on accomplishing objectives
- self-starter with outstanding communication and negotiation skills
- language skills : native in English; German is considered an asset
- education : master / bachelor in electrical engineering or comparable education / field experience
