  • Reporting to the Director of Operations Technology, you will play a pivotal role in leveraging technology to ensure the safe, reliable, and profitable operation of our refinery.

We are seeking an experienced and innovative Process Control Manager to lead our dynamic team.

Key activities include :

  • Lead and inspire a team of Process Control Systems, Applications (APC), and Plant Information engineers to deliver and support industrial control technology and lifecycle management plans to meet our manufacturing operation's need
  • Champion sustainable process improvements that enhance operator efficiency, effectiveness, and awareness
  • Facilitate the development, installation, and sustainment of Advanced Process Control (APC) applications, including Model Predictive Control (MPC) to optimize unit performance and profitability
  • Manage and allocate budget resources effectively to optimize department performance
  • Set performance expectations, goals, and KPIs for the team and ensure they are met
  • Manage team’s workload distribution, ensuring timely project completion and technical quality of engineering deliverables
  • First point of escalation for process control issues arising from operations requiring coordination with other departments
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify, prioritize, and implement process control improvements
  • Embrace IT / OT convergence, providing guidance and support in industrial control systems cybersecurity to safeguard critical refinery assets
  • Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in automation, advanced process control, operator effectiveness, and manufacturing technologies
  • Provide input on new operations technology solutions and work practices

Qualifications

To meet the basic qualification for employment, you will have legal authorization to work permanently in the United States for any employer without requiring a visa transfer or visa sponsorship.

Qualifications for this role :

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering or related field required
  • Master’s degree preferred
  • Minimum of 10 years of automation and process control engineering experience in a refinery or petrochemical environment required
  • Strong leadership and mentoring skills with a proven ability to manage a diverse team
  • Proficiency in industrial control systems, cybersecurity, and advanced process controls
  • Exceptional problem-solving and project management skills
  • Familiarity with regulatory standards and compliance in the refining industry
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Familiarity with Industry 4.0 concepts, trends, and limitations in manufacturing technology and data exchange preferred (e.

g. wireless, IIoT, cyber-physical systems, smart asset monitoring, digital twins, etc.)

  • Demonstrated experience as an effective leader with the ability to inspire and enable others to maximize their efforts and performance to achieve a defined goal
  • Strong foundation in industrial manufacturing operations, operations technology, and advanced process controls
  • A pragmatic approach to innovation and technology selection to drive a competitive edge
