Financial Analyst II

Financial Analyst Position

This position performs highly complex (senior-level) financial analysis related to compiling, reviewing, and analyzing financial data. Work could include analysis related cost accounting, revenue generation, financial methodologies, and other areas for Texas Facilities Commission (TFC). The analyst will prepare reports, respond to inquiries, develop recommendations, and oversee implementation of agency directives. This position works under minimal supervision, with extensive latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.

Essential Duties :

• Analyze financial data and applicable business plans.
• Develop and ensure compliance with procedures, laws, and regulations.
• Identify areas for improved data collection.
• Monitor and coordinate third party financial reviews.
• Perform financial scenario analysis.
• Review, develop, and coordinate financial methodologies.
• Participate in financial reporting development and preparation.
• Perform reconciliations of sensitive financial data.
• Responsible for providing management with forecasting and recommendations.
• Adhere to established work schedule with regular attendance.
• Performs related work as assigned.

Required Qualifications (Minimum Qualifications) :

Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with two years of relevant work experience. Education and experience may be substituted on a year for year basis. Ability to maintain the security or integrity of the infrastructure of the State of Texas

Preferred Experience :

Bachelors degree in accounting, Business, Management or Public Administration Experience with Cost Allocation application practices. Experience working with Cost Recovery Programs and rate setting. Experience working with the State of Texas Uniform Statewide Accounting System (USAS).
