The RCM Manager oversees daily operations of the Revenue Cycle Management team across 4 dermatology practices in the Chicagoland area. This role ensures timely and accurate billing, collections, and reimbursement for professional and ancillary services. The Billing Manager leads a team of RCM professionals, drives efficiency and compliance in all billing activities, and collaborates closely with providers and leadership to optimize financial performance and the patient experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and mentor a team of 10 Billing and Coding professionals, fostering accuracy, accountability, and collaboration.
- Oversee all billing operations, including charge capture, accurate coding, claims submission, payment posting, A / R follow-up, and patient collections.
- Manage daily workflows ensuring timely and compliant submissions.
- Monitor key performance indicators (A / R days, denial rates, collection percentages) to drive efficiency and continuous improvement.
- Ensure accurate coding for dermatology procedures (medical and cosmetic) and compliance with CPT, ICD-10, and modifier guidelines.
- Identify and resolve trends in denials, underpayments, and rejections through process improvement and staff training.
- Maintain current knowledge of payer regulations, Medicare, BCBS, UHC, Cigna, Humana, Aetna and commercial insurance requirements.
- Conduct regular billing and coding audits to ensure compliance and accuracy.
- Collaborate with leadership and providers to streamline workflows, maximize revenue capture, and improve financial performance.
- Assist with payer credentialing, contract updates, and fee schedule maintenance.
- Communicate billing policy updates and foster strong relationships with clinical, administrative, and payer partners.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Business, or a related field preferred.5+ years of medical billing or RCM experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory / lead or management role.Dermatology or specialty practice billing experience strongly preferred.In-depth knowledge of CPT, ICD-10, and modifier use for dermatology procedures.Familiarity with payer rules, prior authorization processes, and reimbursement methodologies for both medical and cosmetic services.CPC Required.Proficiency with practice management and EHR software, preferably Nextech.Strong leadership, analytical, and communication skills with a focus on accuracy and efficiency.Seniority Level
