Position Description :
The Director of Short-term & Regional at The Washington Center provides leadership and supervision to the Programs team who manage and facilitate a host of integral TWC short and long-term programs. The Director of Short-term & Regional Programs will leverage a deep understanding of learning, experience design, program management, and workforce readiness to refine, improve, and innovate existing programs. In addition, the Director will collaborate with a cross functional group to design and implement new short-term & regional programs. The Director will guide a team of Program Managers responsible for delivering programs and will oversee programmatic activities, events, and sessions. In addition, the Director will manage and provide regular training and development opportunities for staff and will support staff through their program implementation and management processes.
The Washington Center is a remote / hybrid organization with the majority of employees working on average one day per week in TWC’s Residential and Academic Facility, conveniently located near Union Station and public transportation in the NoMa neighborhood of Washington, DC. Given our organizational mission focus on skills, workforce development and collaboration, there are times where cross-collaboration among teams and departments will require more than one day per week in the office. The individual in this role is expected to reside in the greater Washington, DC metropolitan area and required to attend programs offered on evenings and weekends. This role will also be expected to travel outside of Washington, DC for Regional Programming.
