PositionPurpose
Reporting into theRegional Director of Operations the Practice Manager manages allessential business functions in the veterinary practice andsupports the practice teams.
The Practice Manger works inpartnership with the Managing Doctor (MDVM) to ensure successfulpractice operations high client satisfaction and to manage practiceteams.
In collaboration with the MDVM the Practice Manager isresponsible for ensuring profitability of the practice growing thebusiness and all the while protecting the practice legacy.
ThePractice Manager must be a strong people manager possess greatbusiness acumen and enjoy leading and developing a team.
Additionally they should ensure the practice has engaged andproductive teams that are driving highquality patient care andexceptional client service.

EssentialResponsibilities
- Driverevenue for practicegrowth
- Manageexpenses including but not limited to drugs and supplies labor andfacilitycosts
- Assist indeveloping and maintaining salary schedules and job evaluations forallemployees
- Provideinput on an annualbudget
- Triageinhouse human resource issues and collaborate with the HeartlandHuman Resourcesteam
- Establishand execute performanceevaluations
- Establishinternal operating procedures for the administration of thepractice to ensure accuracy and completeness of veterinary recordsand reports format and compliance with the accepted hospitalpractices.
- Partnerwith the MDVM to ensure all team members are adhering to practiceoperating procedures that ensure the accuracy and completeness ofveterinary records and reports and ensure formats are in compliancewith accepted practiceguidelines.
- Ensurecompliance with regulatory agencies and laws. This includes but isnot limited to OSHA DEA EEOC ADA and the Department of Labor.
Develop and maintain procedures necessary to meet regulatoryrequirements.
- Frequentlyconnect with Heartland RDO to ensure the practice and teams haveeverything they need to ensure high performance clientsatisfaction.
- Partnerswith Heartland’s Support Center as needed to grow thebusiness.
- Any otherduties deemednecessary.
Requirements / Qualifications
- Abilityto work on weekends whenneeded
- Highschool diploma orequivalent
- Previousmanagement experience isrequired
- Previousveterinary medicine experience is preferred
- Abilityto lift patients and carry equipment up to 25 pounds; ability tolift patients or carry equipment over 25 pounds withassistance
- OverseeOSHA safety techniques including use of properPPE
- Computerskills MS office applicationsetc.
- Basicmath and ability to calculate medicationdosages
- Strongcommunication skills to ensure patientsafety
