Certified Veterinary Technician

MaxFund Animal Adoption Center is the largest 501c3 non-profit, no-kill animal shelter in Colorado. We are looking for qualified applicants to fill 6 Certified Veterinary Technician positions.

As a team member, you will be encouraged to use all your schooling and education as a launching pad to grow your technical acumen in emergency triage, emergency and critical care, surgical preparation / assisting, anesthesia, radiology, laboratory skills, record keeping, and client communications.

Responsibilities will include :

• Passion for working with animals
• Communicate with clients and potential adopters and fosters.
• Use safe restraint techniques, follow protocol, and sustain clean and organized treatment areas, exam rooms, and labs.
• Be able to perform all Technician duties including but not limited to cleaning and dressing wounds, administering medication, collecting samples, checking vitals, supporting surgery, anesthesia, x-ray, drawing and running blood work, urinalysis, placing IV catheters, reviewing discharge instructions, etc.
• Assist the veterinarian during surgeries and other procedures by sterilizing tools, stocking the exam and operating rooms, and confirming that equipment is all working correctly.
• Update patient files, review care plans, and handle other administrative duties as necessary.
• Ability to prioritize and manage numerous different patient needs at one time.
• Attention to detail to maintain accurate patient records
• Willingness to take direction.
• Spanish is a plus.

Job Type : Full-time

Pay : $24.00 - $36.00 per hour, based on experience. Veterinary assistants training toward CVT will be considered.

Schedule :

• 10-hour shift
• 8-hour shift
• Holidays
• Weekend availability

Denver, CO 80204 : Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)

Experience :

Veterinary experience : 1 year (Preferred)
