Accountant
Primary Purpose : Under general supervision, the Accountant performs professional accounting tasks, including the preparation, review, processing, analysis and / or supervision of financial account records relating to accounts receivable, investments, and other financial activities.
Essential Functions :
- Verify, analyze, record and reconcile data from various sources (bank statements, client agreements, bond documents, etc.) to the financial management system, investment management system, debt management system and various other PC applications / databases.
- Perform or assist with complex financial calculations and moderately difficult financial analysis as
- Create and / or maintain various schedules, reports, spreadsheets, databases and / or
- Perform and / or oversee the recording and reconciliation of financial data from various sources to various internal systems / applications including data transfer between
- Draft journal, budget, receipt and receivable
- Prepare invoices for various fees, debt service, rents and project
- Monitor and report on various financial data, such as account balances, disbursements, receipts / receivables, debt / debt service, investments and credit
- Assist with the development and maintenance of financial management systems including set-up and maintenance of records, data integrity review, interfaces, periodic processes and
- Import and / or export data among internal and external
- Coordinate with appropriate DASNY units in the set-up, monitoring and reporting of construction, health care and operating projects.
- Prepare or review financial statements and reports for internal and external
- Work directly with employees, clients and trustees to research and resolve conflicts / problems / issues.
- Assist with tasks related to the annual audit, such as the preparation and review of year-end financial statements, performing special calculations and drafting year-end journal
- Assist in ensuring the accuracy of information received, entered into and extracted from various systems applications.
- Create reports using the financial management system, Clearwater, or other systems
- Assist in ensuring compliance with Federal and State laws, financial standards / practices, and DASNY policies and procedures.

Standard office environment including the use of one or more of the following : PC, telephone, fax machine, printer, copier, scanner, electronic stapler, three-hole punch, date stamp, shredder.Minimum Qualifications :
Bachelor's degree; or an Associate's degree plus three years relevant work experience; or a High School diploma or equivalent plus four years of relevant DASNY accounting experience with a basic knowledge of debits / credits.Preferred Qualifications :
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field plus one-year of professional accounting experience with the application of basic accounting principles and financial statement preparation.Essential Skills :
