JOB SUMMARY :

  • As a *Sales Representative, Padres Foundation 50 / 50 Raffle*, you will be responsible for fundraising efforts supporting the Padres Foundation;
  • the primary source of funding for the clubs outreach initiatives in the areas of childrens health, education, and youth baseball / softball;

through the sale of 50 / 50 Raffle tickets at Padres home games.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Exemplify our Petco Park Promise : Care, Connect, Exceed. Proactively welcomes all guests to the ballpark, connecting with frequent guests and consistently striving to exceed all guest expectations
  • Responsible for fundraising for the Padres Foundation through the sale of raffle tickets to Petco Park guests directly at their seats, as a roaming raffle seller around the ballpark, and at stationary kiosks
  • Assist in maintenance of the 50 / 50 raffle equipment including, but not limited to, charging handhelds and printers, basic sanitizing and cleaning of kiosks and equipment, etc.
  • Accurately handling credit card transactions daily
  • Avid communication of the Padres Foundation mission statement, pillars, and programs
  • Avid communication of the 50 / 50 Raffle rules and procedures to potential participants
  • Operate 50 / 50 Raffle equipment including, but not limited to, ticket selling, printing and general device maintenance
  • Provide guests with directions to different areas of the ballpark including seating sections, group hospitality spaces, restrooms, concession stands, retail spaces and other Petco Park services and amenities
  • Care for our ballpark by reporting security, safety, and housekeeping issues to event management staff via appropriate communication channels
  • Work collaboratively to create a positive and memorable ballpark and / or venue experience
  • Continuously improve understanding to gain expert knowledge of the Padres Foundation, ballpark, baseball, and the Padres
  • Always represents the Club in a positive and professional manner
  • Other duties as assigned by the Community Relations leadership and / or Padres management team

JOB REQUIREMENTS : Must meet the following minimum requirements.

  • Must be at least 18 years of age by the start of employment
  • Minimum physical requirements : able to travel to and gain access to various areas of the ballpark for prolonged periods of time, up to the complete duration of shifts, during games and events, and in all inclement weather, including rain and / or direct sunlight;

able to lift and transport up to 25 pounds

  • Available to work flexible hours on a variety of shifts including days, evenings, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed
  • Must be available to work at least 75% of the Padres weekday home games and 75% of all weekend (Friday, Saturday, and Sunday) home games
  • Must have a High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • Must be energetic, self-motivated, and a natural conversation starter who is comfortable fundraising and selling in front of large crowds
  • Must be highly personable, positive, and professional, and be able to keep that same composure in a fast-paced, team-oriented, and demanding environment
  • Must have excellent customer service skills
  • Possess high degree of discretion, integrity, professionalism, and accountability
  • Ability to meet sales goals; previous sales experience is preferred
  • Ability to quickly learn, operate, and troubleshoot technology-driven handheld, portable devices
  • Excellent collaboration, communication, and organizational skills, with ability to communicate messages effectively to a diverse group of individuals and work well with others in a respectful manner
  • Consistent, punctual, and regular attendance
  • Professional image and demeanor
  • Fluently bilingual in English / Spanish a plus
  • As a condition of employment, the job candidate(s) must successfully complete a post-offer, pre-employment background check, drug screen and provide proof that you have been fully vaccinated (at least 14 days have passed since receiving final dose of vaccine) against COVID-19
