Job Description
Oversees administration and operations of our Community Pathology group. Reporting to the System Administrative Officer and Chief of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine Integrated Center of Clinical Excellence (ICCE) the Director is responsible for physician employment, recruiting, strategic planning and financial performance.
Serves as liaison with Hospital Administration, Revenue Cycle, Laboratory Operations, Pathologists and other staff members.
Responsibilities
- Manages onboarding and hiring, training and performance. Ensures productivity meets the overall operational goals of MUSC and the Pathology and Laboratory ICCE.
- Develop and adheres to ICCE staffing, revenue and expense budgets. Responds to changes in the business which may affect the ability to achieve goals.
- Monitor, measure and assess performance through the use of RVU and Epic reports.
- Participates in efforts in developing existing and new business as well as expansion opportunities.
- Provide recognition and feedback, ensure necessary resources are provided. Create an engaged working environment.
- Ensures timely responses to patient and provider concerns, elevates concerns as necessary based upon situation, potential risk and clinical care concerns.
Provides leadership for the execution of long and short term plans and goals.
Provides oversight of allocated resources and assets. Makes necessary decisions to adjust for variations in projected budget performance.
