The Dementia Care Director at Claiborne Senior Living LLC in Summerville South Carolina is a full-time administrative role that requires strong management skills and a compassionate approach to caring for seniors with dementia. The primary responsibility of this position is to oversee and lead all aspects of dementia care at our facility ensuring a safe nurturing and engaging environment for our residents. This individual will work closely with the senior leadership team to develop and implement programs and services that enhance the quality of life for our dementia residents. This role requires a dedicated and empathetic individual who is committed to providing top-notch care and support for our residents.

Responsibilities :
Oversee and manage all aspects of dementia care at Claiborne Senior Living LLCDevelop and implement programs and services specifically tailored to the needs of residents with dementiaCollaborate with the senior leadership team to ensure alignment of dementia care with overall community goals and objectivesDevelop and maintain relationships with families / guardians of dementia residents to provide updates address concerns and offer supportTrain and supervise staff to ensure they are equipped to provide high-quality care and support to residents with dementiaMonitor and maintain compliance with all state and federal regulations pertaining to dementia careWork closely with the activities director to plan and implement engaging and meaningful activities for dementia residentsConduct regular assessments of residents cognitive and functional abilities updating care plans as neededOversee the coordination of medical appointments and medications for dementia residentsParticipate in regular meetings and provide reports on the status of dementia care at the communityStay updated on the latest research and best practices in dementia care and incorporate them into the communitys practices and servicesRequirements :
Bachelors or Masters degree in healthcare administration social work gerontology or a related fieldMinimum of 3-5 years of experience in a management role in a senior living community or healthcare setting with a focus on dementia careStrong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate and inspire othersExcellent communication skills both verbal and writtenCompassionate and empathetic approach to caring for seniors with dementiaUnderstanding of state and federal regulations pertaining to dementia careAbility to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary teamProficient with technology and electronic health recordsAbility to work some evenings and weekends as neededCurrent CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)EEOC Statement :
