Communications Officer
The Department of Public Safety is seeking up to two Communications Officers. These are full-time (1.00 FTE), 12-month, Public Safety Professional positions.

Key responsibilities include radio operations, phone operations, data entry and information queries, alarms, confidentiality, and reporting.
What you will need includes a high school diploma, law enforcement data systems certification, DPSST Telecommunications certification, proficiency with computers and standard office programs, strong oral and written communication skills, and a commitment to fostering a diverse and inclusive work environment.
One year of previous experience in a communications center or call center is preferred. This position is fully on-site and may require work in a confined area, restricted to authorized personnel only. Work in an area with moderate noise levels caused by equipment and radio transmissions; is restricted to workstation for long periods, sometimes in a close work area. Required to work rotating and varied shifts (day, swing, and graveyard). Shifts cover 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to include weekends and holidays. Shifts vary between 8, 10, and 12 hours but could be longer due to emergency situations or increased workload. Required to work during inclement weather conditions and during natural disasters. Travel outside of Corvallis Campus may be necessary to attend workshops and training sessions.
Pay method is hourly, with a pay period of 16th - 15th of the following month. Pay date is the last working day of the month. Recommended full-time salary range is $26.22 - $35.89.
