Job description

Job Summary :

  • The VP Brokerage will be responsible for leading and growing the freight brokerage division within the organization.
  • This executive role will focus on strategic planning, operational excellence, business development, carrier relationships, and ensuring the highest levels of service and profitability.
  • The VP will drive revenue growth, optimize cost structures, and enhance customer satisfaction by developing and executing best-in-class logistics solutions.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Develop and execute strategic plans to grow the brokerage division, increase market share, and drive profitability.
  • Lead, mentor, and manage a high-performing team of brokerage professionals, including sales, carrier relations, and operations personnel.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with carriers, shippers, and other key stakeholders.
  • Oversee day-to-day brokerage operations, ensuring efficiency, compliance, and high service standards.
  • Identify new business opportunities and develop strategies to expand service offerings.
  • Monitor market trends, industry developments, and competitor activity to stay ahead of the market.
  • Optimize pricing strategies and cost management to ensure competitive advantage and profitability.
  • Implement and leverage technology solutions to improve operational efficiency and scalability.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to align brokerage operations with overall company goals and objectives.

  • Demonstrate to comply with Custom Goods’ Core Behaviors :   Servant Leadership Passion for Excellence Integrity Resilient Intense Safety Focus Trust Qualifications : Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field (Master’s preferred). 10+ years of experience in freight brokerage, logistics, or transportation, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
  • Proven track record of growing and leading a successful freight brokerage division.
  • Strong leadership, negotiation, and relationship management skills.
  • Deep understanding of freight brokerage operations, market trends, and regulatory requirements.
  • Proficiency in TMS (Transportation Management Systems) and other logistics technology platforms.
  • Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
