Accounting & Financial Reporting Analyst
What You Will Do :
The Accounting & Financial Reporting Analyst will provide management throughout the company with financial information as requested.
Participate in the development and preparation of reports and financial statements required by management. Perform work assignments to support business decisions through ad hoc analysis, reports and analysis, forecast planning, activity based costing, and profitability analysis.
Perform moderately complex forecasting and accounting functions as well as assist in preparation of financial reports. Assist with monthly variance analysis, researching and analyzing fluctuations between current month financial results compared to forecasted amounts and prior month results, then implementing changes as necessary to the current forecasting process to yield more accurate results.
Assist Internal Audit and Risk Management with preparing work papers, reports, and audit schedules for annual internal audits, independent audits, and NCUA examination.
Completes any other job related duties needed to help drive to our Vision, fulfill our Purpose, and abide by our Organization’s Values.
What We Require :
Bachelor degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or equivalent education and / or experience. Minimum of three (3) years of accounting analysis and reconciliation of general ledger accounts experience.
GAAP knowledge and an overall knowledge of banking products and industry. Ability to function in a high volume environment and within time constraints.
Excellent written / verbal communication skills relative to good business correspondence and office management. A working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications with advanced knowledge of Excel.
Ability to work independently on tasks of a moderately complex nature with little or no supervision. Work in a dynamic team environment with all levels in the organization.
Ideal Candidate Will Have :
SQL and / or data mining experience. Axiom software experience. Extremely organized and able to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
Readily identifies and effectively articulates issues and alternatives. Thorough knowledge and understanding of federal, state and NCUA regulations.
An overall understanding of Credit Union / Bank operations preferred.
