Job descriptionEnsure sustainability of previous supply-chain improvements from strategic and tactical initiatives. Co-develop and execute short- and long-term supply-chain improvement strategies for the Baytown site. Identify risks and develop solutions to reduce delays and improve overall logistics efficiency. Promote logistics safety and lead root-cause analyses for incidents. Implement proactive measures to support a safe logistics culture. Ensure compliance with environmental, safety, and distribution regulations according to federal requirements and internal policies. Develop and implement logistics policies and procedures aligned with business and customer requirements. Analyse performance metrics and drive continuous improvement. Bachelor's degree in business, Supply Chain, or Industrial Engineering with 10+ years of progressive experience in transportation and logistics OR MA / MS / MBA with 7+ years of relevant experience. Eligibility to apply for and obtain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) in a reasonable timeframe. Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification (or must complete within first year). Experience in lean manufacturing management. Strong understanding of distribution safety, core processes, and regulatory logistics requirements. Experience using SAP ERP and Business Warehouse. Skilled in change management. Demonstrated project management expertise with proven sustainable results. Experience in advising management and translating issues into actionable plans. Excellent communication skills across functions and disciplines.
Supply Chain Specialist
Supply Chain Specialist / Duration : 12+ months contract with possibility of extension. Location : Baytown, TX 77520 Shift : Standard
Main Responsibilities
Project & Process Optimization
- Manage a portfolio of projects in site logistics, logistics purchasing, and transport management (Integrated Logistics).
- Develop and implement standards and long-term sustainable strategies in integrated logistics.
- Identify process optimization opportunities in quality, efficiency, and cost through synergies and new automation / digital technologies.
- Develop early-warning systems to identify bottlenecks in material flow and critical logistics infrastructure.
- Coordinate and lead logistics-related capital investment projects.
- Develop excellence functions for truck, rail, and ship transportation modes.
- Prepare make-or-buy analyses for external logistics services.
