Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Pediatric ICU night shift position requiring a CA RN license and at least 2 years of high-acuity PICU experience.

Responsibilities

  • Position is in the Pediatric ICU (PICU) within a hospital setting
  • Patient population includes birth to 18 years old with high acuity cases
  • Clinical skills required include care for metabolic, respiratory, endocrinology, oncology, neurosurgical, and cardiology patients, as well as level 1 trauma
  • Procedures include arterial lines, conscious sedation, CRRT, and ECMO
  • Assignment is 13 weeks, working 3x12 hour night shifts from 19 : 00 to 07 : 00
  • Float required primarily to NICU and CVICU, but may float to any area as needed
  • Every other weekend required
  • No call required
  • Uses Cerner for documentation
  • First-time travelers are welcome
  • Must work 2 of the 3 major holidays during the assignment
  • Maximum of 7 days RTO (Requested Time Off) accepted
  • Preference for candidates with previous assignments longer than 8 weeks at similar high volume, high acuity facilities

    • Requirements

  • Active CA RN license required
  • Minimum 2 years of high acuity, high census PICU experience
  • Certifications required : ACLS, BLS, PALS
  • Experience with Cerner EMR required
  • Skills required : arterial lines, conscious sedation, CRRT, ECMO, and critical care for a variety of complex pediatric conditions
