The Diesel Mechanic is responsible for performing skilled and complex mechanical repairs on diesel engines and trucks in accordance with Company and industry standards.
Runs diagnostics and performs other mechanical duties such as inspecting, repairing, fabricating, rebuilding, and maintaining diesel engines.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Works with ethics, honesty, values and integrity. Provides a position of professionalism to others.
- Performs skilled and complex mechanical repairs on diesel engines and Company trucks.
- Inspects equipment, analyzes, and troubleshoots repair operations.
- Conducts regular preventative maintenance on equipment and Company trucks, including inspection, tire rotation and oil changes.
- Assists in maintaining parts inventory and cleanliness in the shop.
- Collaborates with repair team to diagnose problems with equipment and vehicles and plan repairs.
- Performs regular diagnostic tests on equipment and trucks.
- Maintains accurate records of each repair performed.
- Coordinates repair services and purchase supplies from vendors.
- Provides guidance to other mechanic personnel regarding repairs and analysis.
- Attends and completes various job related training events, including specialized training as required by regulatory agencies and the Company.
- Completes all safety and equipment related trainings required on a monthly basis.
- Any other duty, responsibility or task as assigned by the supervisor.
