The Role:

The White River Amphitheatre is seeking people who are passionate about the environment to help us take our sustainability programs to the next level. These roles are the backbone and driving force for helping us become a “Zero Waste” venue through sorting and educating others. These seasonal, part-time positions report to the Venue Sustainability Coordinator.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in the post-show sorting process of all recycling, composting, and landfill materials.
• Be an ambassador to all crew members in order to help them understand their role in achieving the venue’s sustainability goals.
• Assist in employee engagement programs such as the water bottle refill punch cards, post show sort giveaways and new ideas.
• Engage fans and encourage them to participate in our sustainability programs through activities or education.
• Partner with fellow crew members at the end of show to close the venue. This may include collecting recyclables from the lawn and/or reserved seating section.
• Position requires about 90% of the time spent walking, bending, reaching, stooping, lifting and carrying 50+ pounds.

Qualifications:

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Must present unexpired original document(s) establishing identity and authorization to work in the United States. Applicants for employment in the U.S. must possess work authorization which does not require sponsorship by the employer for a visa.
• A clear pre-employment criminal background check is required.
• Experience in zero waste events is a plus.
• A dedication to participate in something that will have a real and immediate impact.
• Availability to work weekends and weeknights; hours will vary based on events.
• A strong sense of teamwork and ability to execute programs.
• Great at creative thinking and problem-solving on the fly.
• Aren’t afraid to get dirty!
• Maintain a positive and enthusiastic attitude.
• Must be able to work well with other departments and managers.
• Reliable transportation is required.
• Must attend in-person employee orientation and complete any required online training modules.
