Maintenance Manager Canton Manufacturing Plant
This is a Full Time, Direct Hire position. The Maintenance Manager is responsible for the safe maintenance, repair or replacement of all manufacturing plant equipment and systems, to ensure maximum production quality and efficiency. We are seeking a candidate with at least five years of related experience in the Food Manufacturing industry.
Responsibilities include : supervising all plant maintenance personnel, coordinating efforts to ensure all personnel are safely, effectively and correctly performing all maintenance activities, participating in objective setting, plan development and performance reviews of plant performance, initiating, implementing and managing the plant maintenance program based on best practices in the food manufacturing industry, with a strong emphasis on planning, scheduling and preventive maintenance, monitoring the use and inventories of all spare parts and supplies needed for the proper maintenance and emergency repair of all plant wide equipment and systems, establishing, updating and maintaining the computerized maintenance management system (E-Maint) for tracking and performing PM's, tracking spare parts consumption, maintenance performance monitoring and reporting for customer audits, communicating regularly with all maintenance and production supervisors both individually and as a group to ensure good two-way communication concerning maintenance issues, conducting periodic performance reviews of all salaried maintenance employees to determine competency, knowledge, skill sets and level of contribution to the department, generating updates and maintaining all operating, service and training manuals required by the maintenance department, ensuring all maintenance personnel are trained periodically on personal safety, food safety and any newly revised operating procedures, monitoring, regulating and setting parameters and conditions which all production equipment will be allowed to run to ensure maximum performance and reliability, reviewing the operation of plant equipment and systems constantly, minimizing unplanned downtime, anticipating problems, planning future repairs and identifying opportunities for improvement, initiating and carrying out projects that improve efficiency, reduce operating cost or improves equipment reliability with or without project managers assistance, tracking, analyzing and improving key maintenance parameters such as overtime utilization, parts costs, and all department asset utilization and expenditures to help satisfy budgetary constraints, maintaining a safe, healthy and comfortable work environment for all maintenance employees, ensuring all city, state, federal and local regulations pertaining to the maintenance department personnel and their activities are adhered to at all times, directing, maintaining and enforcing the work order program for the maintenance department, communicating directly with the production department heads to coordinate all maintenance activities that will effect production throw put or any repair that may increase the risk of having a food safety issue, responsible to coordinate the maintenance department's efforts to respond, investigate and resolve all equipment related product contamination issues quickly and permanently, communicating directly with the QC department to ensure that the maintenance department is effectively participating in and implementing all QA policies and procedures, communicating directly with the Sanitation department to ensure the maintenance department is effectively participating in and following sanitations procedures to ensure plant cleanliness, ensuring the entire maintenance staff is properly supervised and performing all maintenance activities, ensuring all maintenance supervisors carry out their responsibilities in accordance with all company policies and applicable laws, assisting with interviewing, hiring, training of all new maintenance personnel, and directly responsible for the planning, assigning, scheduling, directing work, appraising performance, rewarding, disciplining, addressing complaints, resolving issues and terminating of all maintenance employees.
Additional requirements include : regularly performing preventative maintenance or repairs to equipment personally, in cases where alternative means of resolving issues are not present, being available to be contacted by maintenance personnel and reasonably available to report to work in cases of emergency, being available to represent the company in any litigation or hearing pertaining to the maintenance department, being able to regularly lift and or move up to 10 pounds, and occasionally lift and or move 50 pounds, being able to work on ladders, scissor lifts, scaffolding and other high, precarious places safely and effectively, and being able to work around electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and thermodynamic equipment safely.
Requirements include : a degree preferred and minimum 5+ years of Maintenance Management experience in a unionized manufacturing environment, preferably in the food industry.
Compensation / Pay Rate (Up to) : $12,000.00 - $150,000.00
