About the Superintendent of Construction Role
The Construction Superintendent plays a pivotal role in overseeing and directing all aspects of construction projects from start to finish. Reporting directly to the Director of Construction, this position entails managing and coordinating the execution of construction activities on assigned projects with a keen focus on safety, quality, and efficiency. The Superintendent will lead and supervise subcontractors, and suppliers, ensuring that all work is performed in accordance with project plans, specifications, and applicable regulations. In addition to day-to-day supervision of on-site activities, the Superintendent will collaborate closely with project stakeholders, including architects, engineers, project managers, and clients, to facilitate effective communication and resolve any issues or challenges that may arise during construction. This includes conducting regular site meetings, reviewing progress reports, and implementing corrective actions as needed to keep projects on track and within budget. The ideal candidate for this role will possess strong leadership skills, a comprehensive understanding of construction methods and techniques, and the ability to effectively manage resources and personnel in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. While not required, it is preferred that candidates have experience in secure facility construction and knowledge of ICD 705 guidelines. A commitment to maintaining a safe work environment and promoting a culture of excellence and teamwork is essential to success in this role.
Tasks & Responsibilities
