Department : Parks & Recreation / Senior Center
General Description : Under general supervision of the Meal Program Supervisor, responsible for assisting with the Centers meal program.
Minimum Requirements :
- Six (6) months of experience in the food service industry.
- Must possess a valid Salt Lake County food handler permit.
Duties :
- Performs general kitchen duties in the preparation, serving, and clean-up of the Centers meals; assists with menu planning.
- Ensures compliance with federal, state and local health and safety regulations.
- Operates and cleans a variety of specialized food service equipment, i.e. coffee maker, automatic dishwasher, commercial ovens and mixer, and steam tables.
- Cleans and inventories supplies. Assists in ordering and restocking the kitchen as assigned.
- Prepares sandwiches or salads upon alternative request or when main entrees are sold out.
- Responsible for cleaning and general maintenance of the kitchen and dining room, with emphasis in the area of cleanup during the meal preparation and after the meal has been served.
- Monitors general operations of the dining room activities as related to the meal program.
- Fills in for the Meal Program Supervisor as needed.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
