What you need to know
Due to the nature of the duties for this position, the incumbent in this position is required to report 5 days in office at the TTI Headquarters located at RELLIS campus in Bryan, TX. This can be discussed further during the interview process.
The salary range for position is commensurate. Final salary will be determined based on the applicant\'s qualifications and experience.
Job Summary
The Research Engineering Associate I, under general supervision, receives specific instructions on assignment objectives and possible solutions from the project director, Principal Investigator, or higher-level research personnel.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Performs entry-level technical engineering assignments related to automated laboratory test development. (30%)
Works alongside research personnel assisting with designing and building different components of various lab tests. (40%)
Sets up and operates apparatuses or equipment. ( 10%)
Collects and organizes information for various reports or prepares reports or portions of reports. (5%)
Performs other duties as assigned. (15%)
Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience.
No prior experience required.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet applications.
Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Competent in Fusion360 or equivalent CAD software
Basic knowledge in manufacturing (design for 3D printing and CNC)
Familiar with Python, C++, and Embedded systems
Basic electric circuitry knowledge and soldering skills
Physical Requirements
Ability to perform common office functions.
Ability to frequently communicate with other individuals within the workplace.
Ability to operate a computer and other office productivity machinery.
Ability to move heavy objects (e.g. 50 lbs.)

Other Requirements
