Senior Manager, Account Management
The Opportunity
We're looking for a Senior Manager, Account Management to lead a team of Account Managers while also playing a hands-on "player / coach" role. Reporting to the VP, Sales Operations, you'll be responsible for ensuring operational excellence, account coverage, and campaign successpartnering closely with sales leadership to deliver best-in-class client service across every stage of the campaign lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, coach, and mentor a team of Account Managersguiding career development while ensuring coverage across the full account lifecycle, from pre-sale strategy and RFP responses through media planning, inventory management, pricing, insertion order processing, campaign transition, and campaign wrap.
- Develop and implement workflows, best practices, and scalable processes to drive efficiency, consistency, and high-quality client service.
- Oversee Insertion Order execution, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and seamless processing.
- Contribute to the development of new ad products, tentpole sponsorships, and operational capabilities that align with advertisers' objectives.
- Build strategic media plans in partnership with Account Executives, Brand Strategists, and Creative Strategists, serving as the product expert and recommending ad products, pricing, and inventory aligned with client KPIs.
- Shepherd deals from pitch through launch by managing client correspondence, media plan revisions, and requirements across specs, timelines, tagging / ad-serving, and required assets.
- Maintain CRM and OMS systems, ensuring accurate proposal entries and budget ownership.
- Partner with Insights to align wrap reporting with pre-sale strategy, supporting Account Executives in delivering final results to clients.
Job Qualifications
Required Knowledge, Skills and Attributes5+ years of experience in digital account management or media planning within a client-facing role2+ years managing and developing a high-performing team, with proven ability to attract, mentor, and retain top talentStrong knowledge of the digital media landscape, with hands-on experience at a publisher or media companyProficiency in CRM and order management systems (Salesforce, Placement.io, Boostr, or similar)Demonstrated ability to build strategic media plans and act as a product expert in pre-sale conversationsHighly organized and detail-oriented, with excellent project management and follow-throughExceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to distill complex information into clear, client-ready messagingA proactive, solution-oriented mindset, thriving in fast-paced, dynamic environmentsComfort with navigating changing priorities and ambiguity while maintaining focus on results.Bachelor's degree required
