Energy Project Engineer (Mechanical-MEP) Remote Position
Description
The Energy Project Engineer conducts engineering work to develop and implement energy efficiency and renewable energy projects for customer facilities. Projects include energy efficiency upgrades and renewable energy systems. Responsibilities include site investigations, analyzing energy use, preparing savings calculations, developing cost estimates, and preparing written reports. Engineer supports awarded mechanical and construction projects from design through implementation.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or other qualified technical field
- Other technical qualifications and applicable experience in such field as : Project Management, building automation controls, mechanical, electrical, HVAC systems will be considered.
- 5+ years of experience working MEP Engineering projects.
- Relatable certifications, licensure, and / or member affiliations are a plus (Ex. : CES, CEM, PE, LEED, or member affiliation with ASHRE, AEE).
- Demonstrated competency with aspects of energy engineering, including conducting engineering studies, analyzing energy consuming systems, and writing technical reports.
- Experience with implementation of facility infrastructure projects (mechanical HVAC system design, equipment types, configurations, and operations).
- Experience with Energy Modeling Software is a plus.
Job Duties And Responsibilities
Review, evaluate, and improve upon engineering designs ensuring designs are efficient, effective, and practical.Project Manage aspects of design development, project schedule, scope, budget staffing planning and construction planning. Responsible for effective management of project engineering.Apply expert knowledge of commonly used mechanical concepts, practices, codes, and procedures within the mechanical engineering services industry.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement engineering solutions.Possess a keen understanding of utility billing for infrastructure systems to construct energy efficiency model baselines and prepare energy calculations.Conduct engineering studies and analyses to further develop energy efficiency measures that provide financial savings.Engage multiple aspects of the business including support for estimating, business development and sales, R&D innovation, production improvements, procurement, marketing, and service.Provide strategic expertise to support projects in all phases, from design through commissioning; communicate with resources and clients to establish expectations while protecting budget and forecast.Accurately prepare reports and other documentation, be committed to high quality thorough documentation that can be used for future research and aid in client development.Comply with safety requirements in the workplace and at customer sites.Physical Demands And Work Environment
Due to the remote nature of this position, we require applicants to have prior experience in remote employment roles. Must be disciplined, take initiative, possess the utmost integrity, and capable of working proficiently in a virtual environment as both a team member and an individual. Site visits and client facilities may include industrial or construction environments requiring adherence to site safety requirements. Travel to client sites will be required.
