Position Summary

UGA Field Services provides wellness and emergency care in an ambulatory setting to the surrounding community. The UGA Field Services Section serves a diverse caseload consisting of horses ( 75%), cattle ( 10-15%), small ruminants ( 5-10%), camelids and companion swine (

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and / or Competencies

• DVM degree or equivalent
• Completion of at least one large animal internship or 3 years practice experience
• Comfort and experience with equine general and emergency practice
• Preference will be given to applicants who are comfortable working on all large animal species.

Physical Demands

• Stand and walk for long periods of time.
• Lift 30 lbs.
• Work alongside large animals for long periods of time.
• Driving as needed to perform job tasks.
