Director of Surgical Services - Perioperative Leadership Role

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Director of Surgical Services to lead our perioperative team in delivering exceptional patient care and operational excellence. This senior healthcare leadership position offers 24 / 7 responsibility for surgical departments, combining clinical expertise with strategic management to advance our mission of providing safe, high-quality surgical services to our community.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage all perioperative services including operating room, pre-op, PACU, and sterile processing departments
• Ensure compliance with Joint Commission, CMS, OSHA, and other regulatory standards for surgical services
• Develop and oversee quality improvement and patient safety initiatives across all surgical departments
• Manage departmental budgets, capital equipment requests, and optimize financial performance
• Recruit, mentor, and develop high-performing surgical services teams while conducting performance evaluations
• Implement evidence-based practices and clinical protocols to enhance patient outcomes
• Build strong physician relationships and position the OR as the facility of choice for surgeons
• Monitor and improve patient experience metrics and satisfaction scores
• Lead strategic growth initiatives to expand surgical service lines and increase case volumes
• Enforce universal protocol for surgical site verification and patient safety procedures
• Participate in hospital-wide committees and serve as surgical services representative
• Oversee infection control, environmental safety, and OSHA compliance programs
• Develop and implement performance improvement programs monitoring critical care aspects
• Manage quality event reporting systems and implement corrective action plans
• Foster employee engagement through rounding, recognition programs, and leadership development
