SJJ Law is seeking an Associate Attorney with 3+ years of HOA / community association law experience to join our Denver office. This is a hands-on role for an attorney who excels at advising HOAs, property managers, and multi-unit housing clients, while handling general civil legal matters.
You’ll work closely with clients, mentor junior attorneys, and contribute to the growth of a collaborative, client-focused practice.
Preference will be given to candidates with a portable book of business, but that is not a requirement.
- Key Responsibilities
- Advise HOA boards and property managers on compliance, enforcement, collections, and governing documents
- Draft, review, and interpret declarations, bylaws, rules, contracts, and resolutions
- Handle contracts, disputes, demand letters, and negotiations
- Represent clients in administrative hearings or court proceedings as needed
- Provide strategic guidance on legal risks, options, and solutions
- Manage deadlines, billable work, and supervise legal assistants
- Mentor junior attorneys and support practice growth
- Maintain timely, professional client communication
- Stay current on legislative updates in property, real estate, and HOA law
- Perform a minimum of 1500 billable hours annually
- Qualifications
- Required :
- J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school
- Active Colorado law license
- 3+ years of HOA / community association law experience
- Strong legal writing, communication, and organizational skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and case management software
- Preferred :
- Experience with HOAs, property managers, or common interest communities
- Familiarity with Colorado Common Interest Ownership Act (CCIOA)
- Experience drafting and interpreting governing documents and contracts

Pay : $120,000.00 - $160,000.00 per year
