MSSU is seeking candidates for an Environmental Health and Safety teaching position in our Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Program beginning as soon as August 2026. The EHS Program holds accreditation from the National Environmental Health, Science and Protection Accreditation Council and is a Board of Certified Safety Professionals Qualified Academic Program (QAP). The program offers a BS and BAS in EHS. Successful candidates should be prepared to teach undergraduate public health and environmental science related courses in both face-to-face and online formats.
Required: The position requires a demonstrated commitment to teaching excellence, scholarly activity, and advising at the undergraduate level. A Ph.D. in Public Health, Environmental Health and Safety, Biological Sciences, Environmental Sciences or a closely related area field is preferred; however, candidates who are ABD or have an earned MPH with career experience are encouraged to apply. Rank and tenure track dependent upon qualifications of applicant.
Preferred, but not required: prior teaching experience and/or work experience in EHS related fields.
