Marketing Communications Specialist
Overview
The Marketing Communications Specialist collaborates with internal communications, public relations, content strategy, and brand & design to develop, deploy, and measure strategic marketing communications plans that engage our internal audiences and raise Foley’s profile with clients and recruits.
Hands-on execution ranges from drafting and distributing content for firm information campaigns (e.g., benefits enrollment, software rollouts) to compiling and formatting the weekly internal newsletter and curating / posting content for the firm’s intranet.
Responsibilities
Implementation of Firm / Marketing Communications Plans and Tactics
- In collaboration with the Manager, Communications, the Marketing Communications team, and the Business Development & Marketing (BD+M) Department, support the creation of internal communications that build belief in Foley’s strategic plan, understanding of the firm’s client service platform, and pride in our unique culture.
- Contribute to and implement strategic communications plans and solutions for firm initiatives in Technology, Information Security, Administration, Talent, Pro Bono, Wellness, and BD+M.
Whenever called for, act as content creator, editor, proofreader, creative consultant, and multimedia specialist.
- Uncover and amplify good news stories about the firm to instill a sense of pride in the firm’s client and pro bono wins, DE&I efforts, and Boys & Girls Clubs partnership.
- Write and / or curate all content for This Week at Foley internal firm newsletter and handle its layout, distribution, and metrics tracking each week.
- Ensure regular cadence of new content posted to Foley @Work intranet home page, serve as content manager for the BD+M page on Foley @Work, and facilitate posting by other content managers as needed.
- Serve as the communications lead for Foley Best Self, the firmwide wellness program.
- Contribute to Foley.com, social media, and the creation of collateral reflecting the specific areas of specialty.
- Respond to requests for internal and marketing communications support as well as proactively identify and help solve communications issues.
Professional Development
- Remain current in industry trends in internal communications, marketing, and the legal profession.
- Ensure expertise in technology relevant to the position; proactively use most current technology to further teamwork, client service, and efficiency.
- Develop familiarity with relevant subject areas within the Technology, Administration, Talent, Pro Bono, and BD+M functions.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree required.
- Minimum of three (3) years of related internal communications experience, with emphasis on writing and editing in a variety of media required.
- Experience using email marketing, digital content management, and video capture systems desired.
- Law firm experience preferred.
