Position Overview :

  • BLN24 is seeking a motivated Junior Full Stack Developer to join our delivery team supporting the Census Bureau.
  • In this role, you will work closely with senior engineers to build, test, and maintain applications that deliver critical economic data to the public.
  • This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate or early-career developer to gain hands-on experience across the full stack — from backend services to user-facing web applications — while contributing to a high-impact federal mission.

    • Key Responsibilities :

  • Assist in the development and maintenance of applications using Python, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
  • Support frontend development with frameworks such as Vue.js and modern UI libraries.
  • Write, test, and debug SQL queries in PostgreSQL.
  • Contribute to application deployment and troubleshooting in Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) environments.
  • Collaborate with senior developers, analysts, and product teams to translate requirements into working solutions.
  • Participate in code reviews, unit testing, and technical documentation.

    • Learn and apply secure coding practices and contribute to application performance optimization.

    Required Qualifications :

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent education / experience; ongoing degree candidates considered).
  • Up to 2 years of academic, internship, or professional software development experience.
  • Familiarity with Python and at least one frontend framework (Vue, React, or Angular).
  • Basic understanding of relational databases, preferably PostgreSQL.
  • Exposure to Linux-based environments (RHEL or similar).
  • Knowledge of version control (Git) and collaborative development workflows.
  • Strong problem-solving ability, eagerness to learn, and good communication skills.
  • U.S.
  • Citizenship and ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance .
  • Preferred Qualifications   Experience with RESTful APIs and web services.
  • Familiarity with data visualization libraries (D3.js, OpenLayers, or similar).
  • Exposure to CI / CD pipelines and / or containerization tools (Docker, Podman, etc.).
