Freight Broker/Transportation Sales, Independent Contractor

This is a 1099, commission-based only position

As an Independent Contractor for FAK, you will connect shippers (customers who need their cargo shipped from point A to point B) with carriers (the companies with the trucks used to haul the freight), while negotiating a deal that is beneficial to all parties.

You will operate as your own boss working remotely from the comfort of your own home, representing FAK under our brokerage authority, soliciting freight services from your customers, arranging the transportation with one of our contract carriers, and monitoring the freight to its destination.

We provide the back office administrative and support so you can focus on selling & moving freight for your customers.

The ideal candidate is highly self-motivated, professional, experienced, reliable, ambitious, and capable of managing their workload while prioritizing tasks in a fast-paced sales environment.

You think quickly on your feet and can provide solutions when presented with unforeseen challenges. You possess strong negotiation skills and the confidence in your abilities.

Requirements

This sales position is an ideal fit for an individual who possesses the following attributes :

• Experienced freight brokers / agents with 2+ years of experience selling freight
• Experience in primarily managing business dealings by phone (e.g., prior jobs involving cold calls, inside sales, etc.)
• An established book of business is a plus
• Must be comfortable, clear and concise on the phone
• Proficient in Word, Outlook, and Excel
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Attention to detail
• Ability to multi-task, prioritize and make informed decisions
• Must be able to pass a background check
• No enforceable encumbrances with prior employers
• Your own home office (work from anywhere in the US), including computer, internet, phone and fax

Note that this is a 1099 commission-based independent freight broker agent role (not a salaried W-2 employee job with benefits).
